Financial Institutions

Our multi-disciplinary team offers a range of services to private banks, challenger banks and high street names. We also work closely with wealth managers, brokers, non-bank finance providers and other lenders.

We are proud to feature on more than 65 legal panels, which demonstrates the widespread trust placed in us by these organisations. While this is an achievement in itself, we do not sit on our laurels. Having achieved the formal accreditation of being on a panel, we work hard to understand our client’s business plan and  the issues they face. We promote a collegiate approach amongst all the firms on a Legal Panel to provide the client with a seamless and bespoke service.

Many of our relationships stretch back decades and extend across a number of departments within our firm who are committed to providing proactive and responsive, commercially pragmatic advice. This includes real estate finance and corporate lending for commercial and residential property, portfolio buy-to-let, development finance, healthcare, hotels and leisure, private client and Loan Market Association (LMA) work.

Our Bridging Team understands  the importance of driving transactions towards completion.  We routinely work with lenders to meet the tightest of deadlines.  Our team’s experience enables us to deliver effective commercial solutions when difficulties arise.

We are pleased to be recognised by the legal directories for the real estate finance advice we provide to banks and other financial institutions.

Lawrence Stephens is also accredited by FSQS, the leading independent supplier accreditation provider to the financial services’ sector demonstrating the highest compliance standards in relation to information/cyber security; data privacy; business continuity; financial crime; conduct; and financial, legal and corporate responsibility.

Lawrence Stephens works hard to champion diversity, equality and inclusion. Our work within the industry has highlighted to us that women remain underrepresented in some areas within Financial Institutions. Having identified this disparity, we launched our Women in Real Estate Finance (WREF) initiative to campaign for gender equality in this field. Please click here to read about our activities.

"A team with real personality. They are noticeably committed to face-to-face relationship building and networking, and the whole team turn out in force to build those relationships."
